A successful model
Fondo Naturaleza Chile replicates a successful financing and investment model used for more than 30 years worldwide for biodiversity conservation.
The environmental funds in 20 Latin American and Caribbean countries, grouped under the Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Funds Network ( RedLAC ), are pioneers in developing innovative financial mechanisms capable of generating measurable impacts at the local, regional, and global levels. The funds within RedLAC manage US$720 million in endowment funds and US$860 million in extinguishable funds, supporting 754 terrestrial protected areas, 156 marine protected areas, and conservation initiatives among member countries.

Complementing
the work of the State
Fondo Naturaleza Chile mobilizes and complements the financial resources required for the effective conservation and restoration of nature.
Chile is immensely rich in biodiversity, a cornerstone of its identity as a haven of life on the planet. However, it is one of the countries most impacted by the effects of climate change and exhibits the greatest degradation of its biodiversity. The mission is to reverse this damage and protect the natural capital of all Chileans.
Promoting effective conservation throughout the country
The Chile Nature Fund seeks to strengthen local civil society organizations throughout Chile that work to promote biodiversity conservation in their own territories. We place special emphasis on working with communities surrounding protected areas, given their role as guardians of our country's natural heritage.
